High School Hockey Begins
December 1st, 2009 | by Roy |Today’s the day most Minnesota high school boy’s hockey teams begin play for this season. The high school game in Minnesota is the best in the county and features some of the best under 18 players in the game. Players like Blaine’s Nick Bjugstad, who’s projected to be a Top 12 pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, are on display every night.
High School Hockey is an affordable alternative to the $75.00 ticket price of the Wild and many of the venues are great places to watch the game. Take a trip to Elk River and soak in the old school atmosphere there. The Bloomington Ice Garden is also a good spot, as well as South St. Paul’s Wakota Arena. The sounds of the crowd and band reverberate throughout these smaller rinks and it’s impossible not to get caught up in the action. And with so many quality teams around, there’s a handful of good match-ups every single week.
