Man Crush

The guy does it all: score big goals, play solid, tough defense and hits like a wrecking ball. Plus, it’s real fun to say his name. Try it. Cal Clutterbuck. He sounds like a character in “Youngblood”. Anyway, onto the game.
I thought the Wild played their best game of the year last night. They came out buzzing in the first period and scored twice. Dallas made an expected charge in the second period, scoring twice, but the Wild countered with a nice goal by Marek Zidlicky. Nik Backstrom was solid and the third period defense was stellar.
Granted, Dallas was coming off a tough game Friday night and didn’t get into St. Paul until 1:30am, but you’ve got to credit the Wild for taking advantage of that. Now onto a 4 game eastern road trip where they need to come back with at least 6 points out of a possible 8.
