Waiting…

Let’s get these Stanley Cup Playoffs over so we can start the Minnesota Wild’s off-season.  Don’t get me wrong, I like me some Stanley Cup hockey, but I cannot wait for my favorite team to start working on next season’s roster.  Which UFAs will they re-sign?  Which RFAs?  Who will be picked at #9?  Will Terhaar and Greenlay finally be put to sleep?  All good questions that don’t start to get answered until after the Cup is hoisted, presumably by Jon Toews.

Wild in Finals

Ok, so today’s title is a little misleading, but there are a number of former Minnesota Wild players still alive in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  On the Canadiens for example, Benoit Pouliot, Marc Andre Bergeron and Dominic Moore are all playing significant minutes.  Up until last night on the Penguins, Pascal Dupuis was playing a major role and that team.  And don’t forget Kim Johnsson on the Blackhawks either.  If one of these players happens to win the Cup this year, we can all feel a little better, right?

The Offseason

Well, it’s offseason time again for my favorite team.  Heading into it, I can’t honestly say the team is in better shape than it was one year ago.  If you didn’t make the playoffs the season was a failure in my book.  Having said that, I am looking forward to the playoffs beginning tomorrow night.  And because I know all of you are curious to view my picks, here they are:

Mathematically Bad

Well, the season is clearly ending on a down note.  Last night’s loss to San Jose eliminated the Wild from the playoffs, something that has been expected for about a month now.  What did we learn from this season?  Here are some quick thoughts:

At the Movies

In the effort of full disclosure, this is not a Minnesota Wild hockey-related post.  Rather, this is a post about my afternoon at the local movie theater with my10 year old son.
